Day 22: Corn-MAZE-ing Day!

I love my boyfriend. I don't know if I've mentioned that before but I adore him. He is the best thing that's ever happened to me and I truly am so grateful to have him. We can joke about anything and everything and poke fun at one another and just have the best time. Even when we have disagreements or one of us is upset, we always work it out with one another to make sure we are both happy. I think this is such an amazing and healthy relationship that I know I want to be with him forever. This is gonna sound super cheesy, but whenever we are out together, I literally only see him. On our third date, I actually noticed this and told him- If you were to ask me who was sitting by us at the restaurant we were at, I honestly couldn't tell you because all I saw was him. Ok ok. Enough with the cheesiness but I truly do love him, with all my heart. He's my one and only and nobody is going to change that!

Anyway, we decided to go to a corn maze yesterday - after me nagging him for about two weeks straight, he agreed to go - and it was so much fun!! The corn was about 7ft high so you couldn't even cheat and see where you were going up ahead. We got through the 7-acre corn maze within probably 45 minutes and we didn't even cheat!! It was so much fun! My boyfriend is truly lucky because I was the Lewis and Clark of that maze with all my navigation skills.

The vest I am wearing is from Calvin Klein. It is a fuzzy black one and super soft and warm! I actually found it at Ross and would not let go of it because I loved it so much!I don't think they sell it anymore but I did find some great alternative here (Nordstrom)here (Macys) and here (Target).

The shirt I am wearing is white with bedazzles on the sleeves. I'm not entirely sure where I bought it, but most likely it was from Ross as well. You could honestly just pair it with a plain white long sleeve top and it would still look cute! I personally like the thermal tops from Old Navy (click here) because I get cold easily and they keep me snug and warm!

The pants I am wearing are actually an olive color, even though they look black in the picture. I bought those from JcPenny and they are Joe Fresh (click here). They are super comfy leggings but because I'm 5'7", they are a little too short so i either fold them up or pair them with boots!

Finally, the boots I am wearing are from Kohls from a couple years ago (actually 2014). They are the SO Riding Boots and are no longer available. (I have emailed Kohls a couple times asking for them to be back in stock so let's just cross our fingers they come back!!) I have linked the SO Riding boots that Kohls has available now here. But I recently did a blog post on my Journee Collection riding boots and those would also be perfect for this outfit! You can find those at Kohls by clicking here!

I love this season and I hope you do too! What fun adventures have you gone to this fall season?! (Can you believe it's almost November?!?!)

Day 21: Nike Juvenate Sneaker

So I did a post talking about the Yeezy Boost 350 shoes but at the end, I mentioned that I like my Nikes better. Remember that? Well, I do. (Sorry Yeezy fans) I somehow ended up shopping through Nikes about two years ago and spotted the Juvenate sneaker. I was a little hesitant buying sneakers online since I have not tried them before, but I thought why not? I could always return them if I don't like them.

Click the picture to shop the Nike Juvenate shoes!

WELL. I actually don't like them. I LOVE THEM. They are literally like walking on air. I have never ever bought sneakers that have been so comfortable in my life. The whole design is fantastic because it's lightweight and very breathable. If you need to exercise in the gym or are on your feet all day at work, these shoes are my #1 recommendation. Trust me - I own a lot of shoes and these are wonderful! I loved them so much that I bought my mom the gray pair. I even was nostalgic about them that I just bought myself the black & white pair not too long ago. So now I have the white/white and the black/white and I don't even care. I want to buy every color ever made of these. The unfortunate part is that it seems that they are starting to discontinue them and they are getting hard to track down. The only downside that other people have claimed is that they fall apart easily, but I have owned mine since November of 2016 and they are in perfect condition. I use them to exercise, on the weekends running errands, and even on casual Fridays. I am one of those people that uses shoes to their full potential and I have not had these shoes fall apart or any issues in the full 2 years that I've had them.

Click the picture to shop the Nike Juvenate shoes!

I highly recommend these shoes to anybody who's in the market to get new ones. If you are on your feet all day and need something comfortable - get these! They will change your life. Like I mentioned above, they are lightweight and breathable. With that being said, they are not warm. I have worn them during the colder months and I could feel the cold air going through them. To me, they are meant to be used during the warmer months because of the breathable material. If you don't have a problem with that material, then you go for it and get yourself a pair for whenever you want! I just usually wear them in the summer!

Click the picture to shop the Nike Juvenate shoes!

So there you have it. My most loved pair of tennis shoes. They are the best shoes ever, in my opinion. I know when I slip them on, I can drive anywhere and be comfortable. Speaking of driving, because they feel like you're walking on clouds, when you're driving, it feels like you're driving with clouds between your feet and the pedals. That's how amazing they are!! If you have them already, don't you just LOVE them!?

Day 20: Chrissy Teigen’s Tomato Soup

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I was recently gifted Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook ‘Cravings 2: Hungry for More’ and I have been wanting to explore some of the recipes in there. My previous post was about her Banana bread and it turned out fabulous – so much coconut and yummy chocolate chunks! Well because of that, I wanted to try her tomato soup recipe. It looked yummy from her picture so I thought why not. Plus, the recipe was pretty simple.

I will say that I am NOT a fan of tomato soup. I have tried Campbells and I think it’s disgusting. I don’t like it at all. The only tomato soup that I’ve enjoyed is from Snooze with their grilled cheese, but who’s got time to go to Snooze just for their tomato soup? I would say Chrissy’s recipe is probably more comparable with Snooze’s soup than with Campbells. It’s creamy but not soupy. I really enjoyed it and brought the leftovers to work with me the next day!

Her ingredients are pretty simple- some onion, garlic, tomatoes with juice, chicken broth, sugar, salt, pepper.. let it boil and then simmer for 15 mins.. blend it up, add some heavy cream and there you go! She also served hers with parmesan crisps, which is just cheese in the stove for about 5 mins.. but I ended up using the wrong type of cheese so mine ended up a little burnt.. but that’s ok! I like them that way! Extra crunchy!

Onions

 Add garlic

Chicken broth, sugar, salt, pepper

Bring to boil and then turn down to a simmer for 15 mins

Blend it up, add some heavy whip cream and you're done!

I would give this recipe a 5/5 because it’s super easy, quick, and delicious. There’s nothing I hate more than spending over an hour making food because, let’s be real here, I get HANGRY. This recipe was done in probably 45 minutes total. I was able to enjoy it and the parmesan crisps within that time frame. The ingredients were simple and it turned out really REALLY good. I highly recommend trying it.

Day 19: October Boxycharm!

If you haven't heard of BoxyCharm, then I will gladly introduce you to it! Have you ever wanted a box of makeup delivered to your house? Well, that's basically what it is. When you sign up, they ask you some questions about yourself - eye color, hair color, skin type (normal, oily, dry), and all that fun stuff in order to get to know you. They then use that information to put together a box of makeup to send to you monthly for $21 with free shipping! The products are five full-sized items and are usually worth over $100 all together.

I have been subscribed pretty much forever and have yet to really want to cancel. I will say there have been times here and there that I was not 100% satisfied with the things I got but I stayed hoping that the next month didn't disappoint and I'm glad I did. They have become so successful that they are now doing a quarterly subscription of even more luxurious products for about $28 with free shipping. I saw the first one they did with that and wasn't impressed but I saw a preview of the next one and thought I'd get it. I will do a review on it once I do get it.

Click the picture to get your own Boxycharm!

Anyway, I wanted to share what I got in my box for the month of October with all of my readers. The box you always get is a black cardboard shaped rectangular box and it includes all the best brands. Since it's October, I got a pretty Halloween-themed box with mostly black packaging.

Click the picture above to get your own Boxycharm!

First up, I got this Dermovia Lace A Peel mask. Basically, it comes with some sort of face cream that you apply first and then use the lace mask over it. After a couple minutes, you would remove the lace mask and the cream and wash any extra off. Warning: I haven't used it yet but I have seen other girls use it and man oh man does it stick to your skin. If you have sensitive skin, I would not recommend using this. YouTube it. Google it. Make your decision on whether you want to use it or not. (It's also worth over $50 at Nordstrom, just on its own)

Click the picture above to get your own Boxycharm!

Next up is this It Superhero Mascara. It is literally the bomb! I wouldn't say it's the best (because my favorite #1 is still Too Faced's Better Than Sex) but it is pretty good. I use it every single day and I love how thick my lashes come out. The packaging is not misleading whatsoever because I would agree with the statement that it makes your lashes look great. Now, I have naturally long lashes so I personally wouldn't say they are 'stretched' but they do look longer. (Unless that means the same thing, then - yes - they are 'stretched' lol!) This retails for $24 on its own and I got the full size product in my $21 monthly subscription.

Click the picture above to get your own Boxycharm!

Our third full size product is this Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I absolutely LOVE liquid lipsticks because they last a long time without any smudging and I love that. This one is no exception to that rule! The color goes on so smooth and rich and stays on for a long time, which is exactly what I look for in my lipsticks. The color I got was chosen by random and I received 'Love Sick'. It is a nice mauvy color with a hint of pink. I think it matches my skin tone beautifully. I would probably purchase additional Kat Von D liquid lipsticks outside of my Boxycharm based of off how much I loved this one. This retails for $20 on its own.

Click the picture above to get your own Boxycharm!

The fourth item I received was this Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleaning Balm by the company Farmacy. (BTW, isn't that such a cleaver name for a company?! I wish I thought of that!) I have tried this in the shower and it does a really good job of removing your makeup. This product is also sensitive to eyes so you can even use it to remove your mascara. I am known for having raccoon eyes, just because I get lazy with thoroughly wiping off my makeup but this product pretty much took it all away when I used it in the shower. I love this product and would even buy it outside of Boxycharm as well! This retails for $34 on its own.

Click the picture above and below to get your own Boxycharm!

The final product I received was this beautiful Pur Midnight Masquerade face palette. It comes with a total of 10 different colors and a mirror. I haven't used this yet but I have swatched some colors and they turn out really beautifully pigmented. The bigger colors on the left are for blush, highlight, contour, and the ones on the right are for eyeshadow but honestly, makeup is whatever you make it so if you wanna use all for eyeshadow, then you do that girl! The ones on the left are all shimmers, except the blush in the top right corner - Hidden Secret  (which has a tiny bit of shimmer in it) - and the ones on the right are all shimmers, except the brown colored one - Sneak Peek. Oh! And! The whole palette smells like chocolate!

Well, there you have it! The five full sized makeup products, worth over $100, that I received for only $21 with free shipping! This happens every month and so far, it's been getting better and better. I plan to also have a November and December post so if you're not quite sure if this is for you, maybe those will change your mind ;)

Day 18: Free Monthly Header Printable!

Many of you may not know, but I worked at an elementary school for about 7 years of my life. I will say that those were the best 7 years of my life. If the time comes right in my life, I just might go back. I loved working with the kids because no two days were the same and kids loved to hug and cheer people up.. it was truly the best. My favorite part was that they were not my children so I could hang out with them, get them all hyped up on sugar, and send them home skipping back to their parents.. LOL just kidding! My strong skill was craft time and oh boy did I love it! I loved making the sample craft and teaching the kids on how to make it but it would always turn up their own, never exactly how I made it, and I loved that! I remember making Minions and even though I practically cut out all the sample pieces for them, they still all turned out different. Every single one. And I loved that! I love how creative kids can be and how big their imagination is! (P.S. I made a YouTube video like 2 years ago showing you how to make that craft. Click here to watch it!)

Anyway, I wanted to share a free printable monthly titles PDF with all my readers! I had to make one for my current job and thought I’d have some fun with it and the elementary school teacher side of me came out. I hope you enjoy them and if you choose to use them, send me a picture so I can share with everyone! 😊 Also, if you didn’t catch my 2019 printable calendar post, you can find that here!

Day 17: Palacinke (Nutella Crepes)

Click the picture above to buy some Nutella!

So, I've hesitated about putting this recipe up but I really have to because I want everybody to be able to make it. These are the best crepes I have ever made and the best part is that it only makes like 10 to 12. I know I use to make Palacinke back in the day but it would make about 20 and have about a week of them left over, which - let's be honest - end up gross and thrown away. These, you and your family/friends can finish them in one night and maybe have just one night of leftovers (instead of 3). The other best part is that there is NO sugar!! The only sugar that will be added is the Nutella, should you choose to add it. I hope you get a chance to make it and share it with me once you do! :)

Ingredients:
1 and 1/4 cup of sparkling water
1 cup of milk
2 Eggs
1 cup of flour
1 spoonful of oil
1 pinch of salt

Oil for the pan
Nutella or any flavoring you would like

Directions:
1. Combine your wet ingredients - eggs, oil, salt, water, and milk - and mix thoroughly.

2. Add your flour to the mixture, gradually. The consistency should be like pancake batter but a little bit thinner. (not soupy or too thick)

3. Put just a teaspoon of oil in your pan and swish it around so it coats the whole pan. Turn your stove to medium-high heat. You will need to put a teaspoon of oil in between every crepe - not between each flip, but between each crepe.

4. Take a good spoonful of your crepe mixture and put it in your pan. If you are using a ladle, I would say to use half a ladle of the mixture - depending on how big your ladle is; we don't want too much because it can end up thick. Lift your pan around so the mixture is coated nice and even around. Remember we are making thin crepes, not thick pancakes.

5. After you see the edges browning, using a wooden spoon, flip your crepe over to the other side and let it cook for about 2 to 3 minutes. If you're a pro, you can use the pan to flip it over. I'm definitely not there yet.

6. Once it's complete, take it out of the pan into a flat plate. Take some Nutella and spread it evenly on the crepe. You can roll it or fold it - however you choose to do it.

For the next ones, you just continue with a teaspoon of oil, swish it around the pan, drop some of the crepe mixture and distribute it evenly. Flip after about 2 mins. Let it cook for another 2 mins. Etc.
There you have it! Super easy! Also, don't worry if you don't get it on your first try. Cooking is a science and takes some practice to get it just right!

Day 16: Reddy or Not!

I received so many compliments on my mustard color skirt that I decided to do a second post on my burgundy one too! I absolutely adore these skirts and would wear them all day everyday if I could without being judged.

Click the picture to shop the skirt

This skirt is from Old Navy and it's called the Faux-Suede Utility A-Line Mini for Women in the color 'Reddy or Not'. I love the fact that this skirt is so compatible with many different outfit choices. The outfit I paired it with is a black turtleneck, black leggings, and some black booties and it was just the perfect combo. I think another great combo would be a gray sweater or shirt paired with this combo would also look cute! I actually am in the process of possibly purchasing one so I might do some updated pictures with that outfit!

Click the picture to shop the skirt

The booties I paired this with are from Rue21 but I purchased them a couple years ago so they are no longer available. They do have some cute boots and booties on their website now! You can view them here. The beauty of this look is that you don't have to duplicate it exactly, but you can use what you have to make it your own!

Day 15: Journee Riding Boots

I recently was able to purchase some super cute boots and I wanted to share with all my readers where I got them. They are actually pictured in my most recent blog post "Perfect Fall Skirt" and I thought they paired really well together.

Click the photo to shop these boots!

The boots I'm wearing are called Journee Collection Spokane Women's Knee-High Boots. The shade I got them in is brown. They are true to size so no need to go up or down a size. Kohl's also has them in black, taupe, dark gray, and chestnut. I decided to purchase them because I really needed riding boots because my old ones were a little bit worn out. The last pair I got was also from Kohl's but it was about 3 or 4 years ago and they no longer carry them. What I liked is that they were knee-high and had good soles. These boots, I can say the exact same. They are a really great pair and I have gotten numerous compliments on them. I will admit, when I first got them, they were super wide around my legs but as I wore them more often, I got use to it. They are actually super comfortable and as I'm use to walking around all day, I never even noticed any irritability with these boots. They are about one inch high but super comfy. (I don't wear heels or anything that's above the ground so that says a lot)

Click the photo to shop these boots!

My favorite part would have to be the back because the zipper is outlined with a pop of red and I absolutely loveeee that! It is such a unique way to make the boots stand out. Plus, the red jacket really goes with the outfit because of the red outline on the back of boots. The boots are typically around $100 but are on sale right now for $89.99 ! If you use the coupon code Upgrade30, it will save you 30%, making the boots only $62.99. If you have any Kohl's cash or extra coupons, it will bring the price down even lower! I think with all my coupons, I ended up paying around $50, which then caused me to earn $10 Kohl's cash, which of course I spent again.. That's how they get ya. But anyway, I truly love these boots and they are of really good quality. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for new boots. They have been keep me pretty warm and comfy this fall so far! Click here to see if any of them spark your interest!

Day 14: Chrissy Teigen's Banana Bread

So I don't know how I stumbled upon it, but I found Chrissy Teigen's banana bread recipe and decided that I wanted to make it. The first ingredient on her list was 6 ripe bananas. I didn't have any ripe bananas. I actually did have 6 bananas but they were not ripe, so I decided to put them to the side and wait for them to ripen so I can make this world famous (twitter famous) banana bread recipe. It took about two weeks for mine to be ready and in the meantime, I went out and bought the rest of the ingredients so I wouldn't have to rush to the store the day I wanted to make it.

Ironically enough, my boyfriend and I were strolling around Target yesterday and I found Chrissy's book and I was looking through it and found the exact recipe in there. My boyfriend saw how interested I was in this cookbook that he bought it for me! (Do I have the best man or what?!!!!)

I was finally able to make the banana bread today!! Let me tell you. YUMMMM. I usually hate banana bread because it has such a weird texture (it's bread but it's mushy inside.. that's so weird to me) but this one, I realllllly liked! She uses chocolate chips and coconut and it just is such a great combination that it melted in my mouth!

The BEST part (for me) was adding the butter on top of the slice I was eating. That really just sealed the deal for me. The mixture of the sweet banana bread and the saltiness of the butter just hit the spot! Oh my gosh. Chrissy. Thank you. I cannot recommend this enough! I made it exactly how her recipe shows and the only thing I changed was that I added in crushed walnuts because my family likes a crunchy texture. I am telling you - if you have not made this, you need to go make it ASAP. You will not be able to control yourself. Just saying. You can buy the book on Amazon for only $17.99 ! At Target, we actually ended up paying $20.99 plus tax. If you want just this recipe instead of buying the whole book (highly recommend to glance through the book), you can view the full recipe here by USA Today!

Day 13: Perfect Fall Skirt

I'm totally shoving fall down everyone's throat and there is no shame in my game. Honestly, Autumn truly lasts a month - maybe two - and then it's snow and cold weather and pretty much winter until May. So I truly apologize but I would like to use this monthish to my full advantage.

I recently did a blog post about my top 3 fall essentials and I wanted to incorporate the looks so you can see how you can style based off of the pieces of clothing I had mentioned. This post will specifically look at the suede skirt that I totally am obsessed with! I recently ordered it through Old Navy and was able to get it within a couple weeks. As soon as I got it, it was practically snowing so I decided to hold off and wait until it warms up a bit. I finally was able to wear it and oh my goodness I am in love! I got so many compliments on it specifically and I cannot wait to wear it again! I actually also got the maroon color 'Reddy or Not', but I can do a separate post on that one!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The skirt is a bit thin, I will admit so if you're looking for something to keep you warm, I don't recommend this. I think pairing it with leggings is a great idea because it keeps you warm and stylish! If you live in an area that doesn't have a cold fall/winter, (below 60 degrees) then I think this would be perfect to wear. It actually also has two pockets on the front that I love to keep my cell phone in when my hands are full. I have a Galaxy S8 and it fits perfectly! My hand looks like it barely fits, but oh trust me, it's a lot bigger than the picture shows.

Click the picture to shop this look!

The way I paired it was with a black turtleneck sweater, some leggings, and dark brown boots. I think if you have black boots, it would look cute with those too. (In my pictures, they sorta look black so you can see that it's really no big deal to wear black boots with this outfit.)

If you are wanting to pair it with a coat, the color I liked best was red! I think choosing any fall colors to suit this look would really make it look cute. I even had a green raincoat that I wore with it and I still thought it looked cute. The coat I got is also from Old Navy from a few years ago, which unfortunately it looks like they don't have in stock (I ordered it during black friday two years ago so maybe they will have it in stock then!) BUT! This is a great alternative peacoat and what's great is that they have tall and petite sizes. I'm a tall in everything and you don't know how annoying it is to buy a coat and have it be too short on your back, which causes you to be even more cold (what's the point in that!?) The Old Navy tall sizes are the best because I feel like they actually fit me - whether it be the jeans or the tops - and best part is that they are actually really great quality!!

Day 12: Naked

Although this post can be about how the natural side of life is nice, it's actually another post about makeup! Sorry to disappoint.

Recently, the first original Naked palette was announced to be discontinued. This pretty much broke my heart and pieced it together again because I love Urban Decay but there was no way I was going to pay full price for their eye shadows. The price of the original was $54 and it is currently on sale in select stores for $27. It was announced that they would sell at this price until they are sold out. I honestly don't know why they would discontinue it, but hopefully it's because they have something better in mind.

This palette was originally named Naked because of the neutral warm colors. Nude in makeup world is usually a similar to your skin tone color. So with this palette, it varies from very light colors to dark colors. The pigmentation is literally out of this world. It swatches beautifully and stays on for a long time. I swatched a color at the store and I mistakenly took too much because I had to keep wiping it on my arm to get rid of how much there was. It also stayed a long time - for about 4 hours just on my arm.

I am obsessed with Urban Decay's foundation and have not been disappointed with anything else in their line since. I've tried their eye shadows, primer, and concealers and I stand by my word - they are an amazing cosmetics company! This eye shadow is nothing less than perfection! Even though they are discounting it, I assure you there is nothing wrong with the color and they are most likely wanting to promote their other products. So far, I've been using the matte colors first as a foundation and then the shimmer shades on top to really make it pop. I find that these colors stay on a long time, even without any primer. But, if you choose to buy the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer, just be prepared for this to stay on your eyeballs a long time! It is probably the best primer for eyeshadow that I have used and will continue to use. Like I said up above, I stand by this company and love all their products!

Day 11: Viva La Mexico!

October 14th. The first snowfall in Colorado for the season... Since i'm dreaming of warmer days, I thought it would be fun to share pictures from the one time I went to Mexico almost a year and a half ago. Hopefully I will get to go again soon - and by that I mean I'm going to nag my boyfriend until he takes me because he knows how much I love being in warm weather.

This is from our hotel room right outside on the balcony. I swear, the weather felt the same inside as it did outside because of how humid it was. We actually had to crank up the A/C because of how hot it was. I took a shower and would put my towel out on the balcony but then felt like I should jump back into the shower because of how humid it was.

The landscaping was absolutely to die for! On the left is the beach and the Gulf of Mexico and on the right was the hotel and the pools.

The sand was the softest and best I've ever felt. I had to take my shoes off and just walk barefoot everywhere. If it was getting hot on top, you can just bury your feet underneath to cool them. I even took some back with me and have some in our house!

This is the beautiful sunset by the main pool. The wind was blowing but it was a warm wind and with all the humidity, it was just so relaxing and beautiful.

This is a picture of the sunrise. We woke up one day at 5am just to see it rise. There was a lot of smog off in the distance so the sunsets were difficult to see past the horizon.

Another view of the sunrise off the Gulf of Mexico.

The beautiful view from a cafe from another pool. This is where we binged on Nutella crepes. Literally would get up, eat, go to this pool, eat their crepes, continue chillin in the pool, and then come back and eat some more crepes after dinner.

These little guys were everywhere. They were minding their own business and didn't harm anyone. I was still terrified.

Pool foam party!!! I actually did not participate but it looked like everyone else was having a blast! They were blasting Pitbull so you know it was a good time. I guess they do it every Tuesday or something so it's pretty normal there. Can you imaging having a job where having a foam party every Tuesday is considered normal? I wish.

Just some beautiful palm trees and yes, the grass is real. They have people that maintain is so beautifully. I saw a few workers there cleaning it up along with the bushes. I'm sure those people don't get paid enough but I'm very grateful for them.

See ya later Mexico. Hope to see you again! :)
