Day 2: Mean Girls

Oh Mean Girls! What a classic movie! When I first saw this, I thought 'wow, this is beyond silly that girls act this way' but as I grow older, this movie relates more and more to adult life. With all the fake people acting nice around each other, backstabbing silently, and keeping up with appearances, this movie is more real life than the comedy it portrays.

I've had a lot of friends throughout my life and many, I've realized, are the typical 'mean girl'. I've had girls pretend to help me out with a guy and then turn around hitting on him and trying to get with him. I've had girls make remarks about my family and think it's funny. I've had a girl who was so mean to me that because of her own insecurities, tried to constantly bring me down and talk down to me, making me think it was for my own good. It's funny how when you finally love yourself and who you are, people start to not like you. I never understood why that is. Just because I have realized how awesome I am, it makes you feel bad about yourself? You should start thinking you are awesome too, right? And instead of being horrible towards other girls, you should start uplifting them.

It's the girls that uplift other girls that are the best kind of people to be around. So let's work together and uplift one another instead of tearing each other down. If somebody is going to school - awesome! Education is always the best! I hope you get a great degree in a field that you love! If somebody just got a job promotion - I am so happy for you! You deserved it! You worked hard and give it more than 100% so this was meant for you. If somebody just got engaged - congratulations! I am over the moon for you to be able to find your true love! Let's keep supporting one another so we can be better people, not just to show to others, but to ourselves.

On Wednesdays, we wear pink!
