Day 50: New Years Eve Outfit Ideas

We are halfway to my 100 blog days postings! Ahhhh- feels like yesterday when I first started! I did want to say that I have made the decision to end my 100 blog days at the end of 2018 with 50 blog posts. I feel that it's just right and perhaps I can continue to blog but not feel so pressured continuing on in 2019. I wasn't too happy with numbering my posts because sometimes I would forget what day I was on or forget entirely to number them, but it was the only way I could keep track of where I was at. I think this blog post would be a perfect end to 2018. I also have a blog post reflecting on 2018 coming up the first day in 2019 so stay tuned for that!

This first look is actually my NYE dress from last year - Trixxi Every Day Value 3/4 Sleeve A-Line Dress from JcPenney. (It looks like they are sold out online, but I bet they will be in stores if you go to your local one!). I got is suuuper last minute because I just didn't have time nor did I find anything I liked so I just happened to stumble upon this one last minute and I loved it! The New Year's in Colorado are super duper freezing so I had to wear leggings and a huge coat, of course. I paired it with some cute black booties. I think these from Walmart (click here) are my new favorite. They are suuuper comfy to wear and are so cute. I'm actually wearing them with my outfit his year. I sized up in this dress but totally could've gotten true to size and been fine. I just like to size up for length since I'm so tall.

The second dress is from Amazon - Meaneor Women's Long Sleeve Rhinestone Embellished Vintage Cocktail Dresses! I actually wore it for my birthday in 2016 and I am obsessed with it!  It's super thick material, a bit stretchy, and not see-through AT ALL! It comes in many different colors. I love that it's long sleeve and the rhinestones on it are such a great touch! You can pair this with black strappy heels and a black coat with a purse in a pop of color such as pink, blue, or even orange. On my birthday, I paired this with red flats and red lipstick! Such a perfect pop of color! I got this dress in my true size but totally could've gone up a size for a more comfy look. If you're into a bodycon style dresses that hug your curves, then I recommend going with your true size.

The third dress is from H&M - Velour in black and it's only $9!! I will be honest and say that this sold out pretty quick and I wasn't able to find it in my local H&M, but that doesn't mean that it won't be in yours. I still recommend to check because you never know! I think this is such a cute dress. It goes to the perfect length and is sooo sooo soft. The inside is not velour, but more of a lining material, but put together into 1 dress - it's two materials smooshed into one, not separate - hopefully that makes sense. I sized up in this dress but kinda regret it because my true size would've hugged my curves better. Because this sells out so fast, I wasn't able to snag one my true size so I just left it. I'm hoping the dryer will help a sista out with this one!

The fourth dress I have is originally from Old Navy. To be honest, I have noooo clue how this ended up in my closet - I don't remember ever buying it lol. After searching through their website, I believe it's the Sleeveless Ponte-Knit Sheath Dress for Women, but they don't have an option in red. I think the Botanical Green would be great for new years and for summer time, I actually might snag the Gray Stripe. I've also found some cute NYE alternatives - Shein (click here), Amazon (click here), and H&M (click here). I think having a sleeveless dress is super cute if the weather in your location allows for it. I wish I could wear dresses like this with no coats for New Years but unless I am in a hot place like California or Florida, there's no way I can wear it outside in Colorado. I will say it's a great dress for summertime too, if you are wanting to look cute at work or a wedding. I think I actually wore this dress to a wedding in 2015. You can click the picture for more outfits!

The last dress is from WOW Couture. I don't recall where it's from but I know it's a bit pricey. It's a very luxurious dress and super see-through so I'd have to wear a slip with it. (what is this, the 80's?) I did find a cute alternative - TJ Maxx (click here) or you can click the picture for some more outfits!

So there you have it! I hope 2019 becomes everything you've ever wanted and more! My blog post sharing my thoughts about the year will be next in a few days! Scroll below for a full list of my NYE dresses and shoes!

Day 49: Plaid Layers

If you are familiar with Colorado, you know that we have gorgeous mountains that are filled with Evergreens, Pines, and Aspens. I think the prettiest time to see them is mid to end September because the Aspens are just starting to change color and the Evergreens and Pines have such a pretty green color. I can't wait until next fall because to be honest, this fall was about 2.5 seconds long and then it snowed and all the leaves fell and it was pretty much over. (I told you Fall wasn't gonna be long - you didn't believe me, but I was right!) Sometimes, you have to take a step back and learn a thing or two from nature. Change is inevitable. You can't go your whole life without change because you won't be able to grow. Yes, the grass dies, the flowers wilt, and the leaves fall, but come Spring, all of them blossom again - and you will too! Don't worry if you're stuck in a rut right now or if you feel like things are never going to get better because they will. If nature's grass can withhold the dark times, then so can you. With that said, only 2 more days until this nonsense of darkness at 4:30pm is over and then we party until the sun rises! Thank God!

The vest I'm wearing is my newest obsession from Kohl's - Juniors' SO Puffer Vest in the color White Knight. It's literally my go-to when it's a little bit chilly outside. It doesn't bother me nor is itchy in anyway whatsoever. I love the length because it's long enough to go down my back so I'm not cold. I love the collar also - I truly thought I wouldn't like it, but I do! - and it doesn't bother me in anyway. I have been eyeing the Textured Gray and Lavender Rose Gold and they may or may not be my next purchases! I went true to size but if you like a bigger fit, you can always size up one!

The plaid flannel I'm wearing is from American Eagle - American Eagle Ahhmazingly Soft Flannel Boyfriend Shirt in the color Green! I loved one of their ahhmazingly soft flannels so I decided to buy another. I will say that I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't softer. I think this isn't an amazingly soft flannel, but I would say it's just okay. I love the length and how comfy it is. I think it would look great layered with even a black vest. I went up 1 size but you don't have to. I like my flannels a little bigger so I chose to go up a size.

The jeans I am wearing are actually jeggings from Old Navy (click here). I totally LOVE them! They are a true jegging so they do not have any buttons or zippers. It's pretty similar to leggings, except that it has pockets in the back. The bottom is fringed, which I love also and it's the prefect length! I got my regular size and - not gonna lie - had to squeeze into them, but once they were on and I broke into them, they were perfect!

My boots were from Rue21 and are no longer available, but a WONDERFUL alternative would be the Arizona Women's Gale Block Heel Bootie from JcPenney  - they are THE MOST comfortable booties that I own! I have worn them to the grocery store, to run errands, to go get the mail like 20 ft from the door lol but trust me, they are amazing. I also found some other cute alternatives -  click here to find some alternative ones from Charlotte Russe and click here for some from Target!

Day 48: Fuzzy sweaters

I think fuzzy sweaters should be appropriate in all seasons. I think they even look cute with skirts and shorts. Too bad Colorado weather is either the movie Frozen or the movie Aladdin. (Which btw is coming out next summer and I'm soo excited, along with the Lion King, of course!)

Click the picture to shop the look!

I was able to snag this super cute fuzzy sweater Target the other day and I am totally in love! It's called Women's Crewneck Eyelash Pullover Sweater - A New Day in the color Cream. It's sooo stinkin soft and I just wanna wear it all day everyday. It's true to size but I could've also gone down a size for a more fit sweater look. I like my sweaters to be a little big baggy so I went true to size. I actually love it so much that I have worn it 2 days in a row.. sorry, not sorry. Target is actually having a sweater sale right now (click here) with tons and tons of sweaters for like $10!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The jeans I'm wearing are from Rue21 (click here - Dark Wash Destroyed High Waisted Jeggings). I totally love them! I ended up sizing up because I know their last ones would shirt a tiny bit in the wash so I went up a size. I will say, after wearing them a few days, they have stretched out to the point where I have to keep pulling my pants up. It's not super annoying but it's happening. So I would recommend going with your regular size unless you're ok with a little stretch. I promise it's not too bad if you go up a size. I'm not swimming in them or anything!

Click the picture to shop this look!

Lastly, my slippers are my favorite and oh so cozy! They are the Women's SONOMA Goods for Life Sweater Knit Moccasin Slippers in the color Neutral. I am soo happy I got them! I actually had a Kohl's coupon so I decided why not? They were only $14! Well guess what? They are on sale for $11 now!! You can't beat that! They only go in range sizes, so 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and I chose to go with 9-10 since my shoe size is 9 but they actually are a tiny bit big for me but I'm ok with that because the fur lining makes it snug!

Day 47: Green Turtlenecks 🐢

Green turtlenecks sounds like i'm about to become one of the ninja turtles 🐢 and I'm actually totally fine with that. I love pizza 🍕 and saying fun things like 'for sure dude'🤙🏼 . I'm practically one of them, except can I be the pink one? (There isn't a pink one but I'm gonna be the first!) This is the outfit I wore at the holiday lights but I didn't get a chance to share my sweater so I thought I'd share it all!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The sweater I'm wearing is from JcPenney - St. John's Bay Womens Turtleneck Long Sleeve Pullover Sweater in the color Bold Emerald. It's super warm and comfy and my favorite part is the color! I think it's such a pretty emerald color and it goes perfect for this holiday season!

The jeans I'm wearing are also from Old Navy - Mid-Rise Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans for Women - in the color Bright White. These jeans are the BEST you will ever purchase. They are a great fit on my curves, super stretchy, and not even close to see-through! I can literally wear whatever I want underneath them! No joke!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The boots I'm wearing are from Kohls - Journee Collection Kane Women's Studded Over-the-Knee Buckle Boots - in the color Gray. I am soooo in love with these boots! They are the perfect over-the-knee boots and are super comfortable to wear.

Day 46: Pom Pom Beanie!!

I'm not gonna lie, I feel sick as a dog right now. I woke up with body aches, decided to work out anyway - felt great! - but then as the day went on, my aches became worse and let's just say I'm really hoping it's not the flu. I'm taking lots of time to rest, eating some soup, and downing water like no other. I've heard B12 is also good to take so I might try that! Anybody else not feelin well?

Click the picture to shop the double pom pom beanie hat!!

This CUUUUUTE Faux Fur Double Pom Pom Beanie Hat was inspired by Katy Roach - her blog is always the cutest and when I saw her post it, I HAD TO get it! I got it in the color Ivory and it's sooo stinkin cute. The lining on the inside is so soft and warm that it makes me want to get one in every color. I've been told that I have a big head (scientifically proven in my biology class in college - don't ask lol!) and this fit right over my head with no problem. The material is just wonderful and I would recommend it 100% to anyone that's wanting it.

The sweater I'm wearing is the A.N.A Long Sleeve Round Neck Pullover Sweater from JcPenney in the color Crema Metallic. It really soft and actually sparkly - you can't really tell in the pictures. I really love that it's long and it can be perfect for pairing with leggings. It's not itchy whatsoever and actually quite soft ribbed lining. It comes in a multitude of colors in which some are sparkly and some are not. It was on sale during black friday for $15 so I bought one for myself and another in the color American Navy Met for my mom!

Click the picture to shop the double pom pom beanie hat!!

You will never guess where my bright red leggings are from.... Walmart! Yes way!! I love these bad boys because they are such a pretty bright red color and are super cute. They even have back pockets - which I loooove. The only thing is that they are kinda short for me (I'm 5'7") but that's not a problem for me because I can pair it with booties or even have longer boots and it won't show. I was able to buy this in store, but it doesn't look like they have this color available online. I was only able to find the regular jeggings color online (click here). I did find some cute regular leggings from Forever 21 (click here).

The boots are new and I've been eyeing them for a while now. I think I actually posted them in my Black Friday deals post, but they are the Arizona Women's Gale Block Heel Bootie from JcPenney and the most comfortable booties that I own! I actually can't believe how comfy they are - I totally wasn't expecting it. They are normally $24 and are on sale for $18 now! I was able to purchase them a few days ago and added 'in store pick-up' and was able to pick them up the next day! I seriously can't believe how comfy they are.

I'm wearing the naked palette on my face as well as the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in the color Redrum (AKA - the PERFECT red lip!)

Day 45: Black Sweaters & Ripped Jeans

Everyone knows how cozy I love to be and if you don't, well, now you do. I hate being cold and if it could be summer 24/7, that would be my ideal place to be. (I know you're asking why don't I just move, but trust me, it's harder than it sounds.) We've had summers over 100 degrees in Colorado and those were my favorite days. I know some of you probably think I'm crazy but look at it this way.. If you're hot, you can just jump in a pool.. but if you're cold, you have to pack on like 70 million layers which sucks. Plus, the sun gives you serotonin and people are a lot happier with their levels being higher!

Click the picture to shop the look!

This sweater is the cuuuutest. I bought it from Rue21 last year and actually did a blog post on it (click here) and of course, it's no longer available on their website. (I'm sorry!!) But, I have found some cute alternatives - here (Ardene), here (Forever 21), here (Forever 21), and here (Forever 21).

The jeans are also actually from Rue21. The specific kind are not available, but they have a cute similar one - click here. (I actually JUST placed this order so I should be getting them soon. I like that they are high waisted because I hate pulling up my pants 100 times a day!) Otherwise, I've found some cute alternatives here or here (both Charlotte Russe)

My sunglasses are from Quay Australia and I actually bought them through Nordstrom because they offered free shipping! Quay offers $5 shipping, while Nordstrom is free! I actually have 3 pairs total from Quay - faded black, gold, and silver.

The loafers are my favorite and my go-to now!! They are driving loafers from Old Navy in the color 'Mouse'. They are super comfy and flexible that I just love wearing them! I hate getting shoes that are cute but then are the worst for my feet. I promise you, these aren't them. If you still aren't sure, go to your local Old Navy and try them on. You. Are. Welcome.

Day 44: Holiday Lights!

My very special and amazing boyfriend took me to see holiday lights at the zoo and I loved it! We drank hot chocolate, we held hands, our bellies were full of laughter! I loved every minute of it! I also love every minute with him, no matter what, so what's new! It was a little cold (like 30 degrees) so we both made sure to bundle up! The outfit I wore was perfect and I was neither hot nor cold the whole time wearing it!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The scarf I'm wearing is from Cents of Style called Rome Solid Blanket Scarf in the color Ivory. I actually ended up getting it on sale for only $8 with free shipping!! Right now, it's on sale for about $19 and the code I found was 'COS4LESS' which will discount it about 25%, making your total about $14 with free shipping!! I actually have a few colors of these and I'll post them with looks as I get more outfits put together!

The peacoat I'm wearing is from Old Navy - Soft-Brushed Peacoat for Women - in the color Hollywood. I love that I'm able to buy tall sizes online because It's long enough to cover my back and super cozy and warm for the cold nights! Unfortunately, it looks like this particular color isn't available in the tall sizes in this tan color but it is available in maroon and navy!

Click the picture to shop this look!

The jeans I'm wearing are also from Old Navy - Mid-Rise Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans for Women - in the color Bright White. I sound like a broken record but I've said it before and I'll say it again. These jeans are the BEST you will ever purchase. They are a great fit on my curves, super stretchy, and not even close to see-through! I can literally wear whatever I want underneath them! No joke!

Finally, my boots!!! I freakin love these boots! I recently purchased them from Kohls - Journee Collection Kane Women's Studded Over-the-Knee Buckle Boots - in the color Gray. I am soooo in love with these boots! They are the perfect over-the-knee boots and are super comfortable to wear. I've worn it a handful of times since I got it and it's literally my go-to pair of boots. I think you can pair them with a sweater dress or even a long sweater would look cute. I think with all my Kohls coupons, I was able to snag them for around $50.

Day 43: $19 Vacuum

I know what you're thinking. If a vacuum is $19 then it's probably a POS. Well you're wrong! This vacuum I saw floating around a lot of people's posts (over 900 positive reviews of it) so I decided to buy it myself and try it. OMG. It's probably the best $19 vacuum you will buy. Now, it's not something to use for deep cleaning carpets or vacuuming your whole house (if you have thick carpets), but it is good for kitchen floors (tiles or hardwood) or cleaning your car or spot cleans (spot vacuuming? Is that a word?).

Click the picture to shop this vacuum!
Click the picture to shop this vacuum!

It's super lightweight and super skinny that it will fit anywhere and you can use it for a while and not get tired. So far, I've vacuumed up little crumbs on my hardwood kitchen floors, cleaned my whole car, and spot cleaned little areas on my stairs. It picks up the dust and dirt as well as the crumbs around that it is a breeze vacuuming now. You can remove the bottom and top piece and have a handheld vacuum for easier cleaning. (That's how I cleaned my car and spot cleaned the stairs.)

The filter is a small white thick mesh material that is super easy to clean. I ran it under a little bit of soap and water after about 15 vacuumings and left it dry overnight and it was as good as new the next day! I did this after vacuuming my car because of the dirt and dust it had collected in there. You do not need to buy a new filter because you can just wash the one that's already in there! Although if you wanted to, they do sell them (click here).

BISSELL 3-in-1 Lightweight Corded Stick Vacuum
Click the picture to shop this vacuum!

Now, as a disclaimer - this vacuum is not for deep cleaning or your everyday house vacuuming if you have thick carpet. I tried to vacuum a little room and it took forever, it was difficult, and it didn't really pick up everything off the thick carpet. I wouldn't recommend this for thicker carpet, but would recommend more for thin carpet or hardwood/tile floors. If you have thin carpet, this would work GREAT! I even vacuumed our basement (we have thin carpeting there) and it picked up A LOT of dirt and dust. I think it would be great for college students in dorm rooms - it's easy to use and store. If you have a small apartment or hardwood mostly throughout your house, this would be perfect to use! If I had to give a rating, I would give it 5/5 stars!

Day 42: Yeezy Shoes Outfit

I know I made a blog post about my Yeezys and said how big they made my feet look but I decided to give them another chance and I kinda like them. I think they look super freakin cute and I'm actually gonna start wearing them more often. (sorry not sorry!)

Click the picture to shop the look!

The white sweater I have on is from Kohls (click here). I mentioned this sweater in a few posts because I have the white, gray, and blue marble version of it and I just love lounging around because it's just super warm and comfy to be in! They are currently on sale for $11.99 and if you have any coupon codes, it will lower it even more!

My flannel is from American Eagle - Ahh-Mazingly Soft Plaid Boyfriend Button Up Shirt by American Eagle. It's literally the softest material you will ever feel for a flannel shirt. It's on sale right now for $22! They have 3 different links/versions with different colors on their website (same soft material) so you can click here, here, and here to view them all!

My jeans are from Old Navy - Mid-Rise Black Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans for Women. I've said it before and I'll say it again - most amazing jeans ever. Super stretchy and a true black color. I love that they have tall sizes so it doesn't come up short on me. It's probably the best pair of jeans that I own. They are on sale right now, which won't last long because they rarely put their Rockstar collection on sale.

My shoes are, of course, Yeezys. They are super cute, super white, and super comfy! They only sell them at certain times so I don't have a link for you to purchase. I know people sell them on Ebay but usually they are way overpriced. My recommendation is to wait until the next release and try to purchase them yourself!

Day 41: Sweater Dresses

I am sooo happy that sweater dresses are in right now because umm how freakin cute?! They are my absolute favorite because now we can wear dresses in all seasons!!! YASSS!!

Click the picture to shop the look!

This sweater dress is actually from Burlington! I was surprised that they had great stuff because I've never shopped there before! This dress is sooo warm and fuzzy and it came in gray as well. I like how long it is because I can wear it with or without leggings. You could also pair this with over-the-knee boots (these are just knee length) and it would look super cute! (I actually think it would look better with over-the-knee boots but I didn't pull mine out for the pictures - I was too lazy lol!) This dress is actually no longer available but I have found a great alternative (almost identical) here (Miss Guided). I also thought these were super cute - here (Kohls), here (another Kohls), and here (Miss Guided - different color).

The boots I'm wearing are called Journee Collection Spokane Women's Knee-High Boots. The shade I got them in is brown. They are true to size so no need to go up or down a size. Kohl's also has them in black, taupe, dark gray, and chestnut. I did a whole blog post on them (click here) if you'd like to read all about it!

Day 40: Egg Breakfast

I shared this on my Instagram and FB a couple days ago but I thought I'd also share the recipe on my blog since I think it's super yummy! It's a quick and easy recipe so you don't have to spend hours making food for your family.

Ingredients:
4 bell peppers halved - one of each color, diced into bite-size pieces
1 medium onion, diced small
2 tablespoons of oil
4 eggs
2 hot dogs
1/4 cup shredded cheese for topping
salt and pepper for taste

Directions:
1. Dice half of each of your bell peppers into bite-size pieces. Toss them into a hot pan with 2 tablespoons of oil. Let them sear for about 5 minutes, depending on how soft you like them.

2. Toss in your diced onion and let it sear for about 2 to 3 minutes, until translucent.

3. Cut up two hot dogs into small pieces and toss into the pan. Let it sear for about 2 to 3 minutes as well.

4. While your ingredients are searing, beat 4 eggs and season with a little bit of salt. Pour eggs into your pan and cook to your desire. I like mine a little bit runny, not fully scrambled. You can even make it into an omelette if you want to.

5. Top with some shredded cheese and you're all done! Enjoy!
